Looking for a CDA Class? Consider PennAEYC CDA classes for fall of 2025

To get started and to see if you are eligible for funding visit the ECE Professional Development Organization at PASSHE to get started https://ecepdo.org/get-started/

PennAEYC is pleased to partner with the ECE Professional Development at PASSHE to offer CDA Instruction classes in English. Pennsylvania’s early childhood educators within the Central Region who work at least 25 hours/week providing care to infants, toddlers, and pre‐school aged children are eligible for course funding. Students can complete the coursework which will prepare you to take the CDA credential exam. This instruction is provided at no‐cost (yes, it’s free!) if you qualify, through PennAEYC and the Early Childhood Education Professional Development Organization (ECEPDO@PASSHE)! Assistance in navigating the process of obtaining the National CDA Credential will also be provided!

PennAEYC CDA Courses are community based and offer 120 classroom hours of CDA preparation. All courses are offered in a live virtual environment. The PennAEYC CDA Class is a cohort of study that requires full participation in 120 hours of classroom attendance and associated assignments for understandings of the required CDA curriculum content. The cohort model requires full completion (120 hours and all associated assignments) to obtain credit for the course. It is important to understand partial credit will not be given if this course is not completed in full. You must acknowledge below your acknowledgment of this course style.

*Please note PennAEYC DOES NOT AWARD the CDA Credential. The CDA Credential is awarded by the National CDA Council. Application for the CDA Credential can be completed following the successful completion of 120 clock hours of the CDA required content instruction. Information about the CDA Credential process and Credential Application can be found at https://www.cdacouncil.org/en/about/learn-about-the-cda/

Contact Rose Snyder at rsnyder@pennaeyc.org or contact a PASSHE Professional Development Specialist in your community! PennAEYC courses are funded with support from the PDO at PASSHE. Students must work in a program in the PASSHE PDO Region.

Please note PASSHE PDO funding for this course is limited to the PASSHE PDO Central Region (identified in green on this map).
