Jan Schwartz
Director of Outreach
Jan Schwartz serves as the Director of Outreach leading PennAEYC’s grassroots outreach and advocacy work with the Pre-K for PA and Start Strong PA advocacy campaigns. The majority of her time is spent working to build Pre-K for PA and Start Strong PA campaign efforts and presence in the Northeast, as well as in York County, Pennsylvania.
Jan has worked in the early care and education field for fifteen years. Through her work as a Local Education and Resource Network (LEARN) Coordinator and an independent consultant for various education-focused nonprofits. Jan has developed relationships with center directors, staff, and families at both for-profit and nonprofit child care, group and family centers. She has acted as a liaison between multiple working groups composed of legislative, school, business, and community leaders. She serves on the Northampton County Children, Youth and Families Division Advisory Board and the Career Institute of Technology Occupational Advisory Committee. She has a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, both from Kean University.
